Wirral based composite hose manufacturer Dantec is announcing the completion of a £30,000 investment to increase the capacity of its factory production line.

Dantec hoses are used to transfer petrol, oil products, chemicals and liquefied gases. This year, turnover at Dantec rose to £5.6m with the firm doubling sales to the Middle East. The majority of hoses produced on the new line will be sold on the export market which accounts for 70pc of all sales.

The new line will increase manufacturing capacity at Dantec by 30pc in both 75mm and 100mm bore hoses significantly reducing lead times. The project is being built using the in-house expertise of Dantec’s Maintenance Engineer Eugene Smit and is being overseen by Dantec Works Manager Ian McGillivray.

Dantec Sales Director Jon Loach and Operations Director Derek Connolly, who has worked for the firm for 27 years, welcomed The Mayor of Wirral Councillor Gerry Ellis and Mayoress Margaret Ellis to open the new facilities at the firm’s works on Tarran Way.

Mr Loach said the new production line would enable Dantec to cater to increased demand and help drive future growth.

“Dantec knows that growth in the competitive global market can be driven by investment at home,” he said. “As we target potentially lucrative export markets like the USA, Middle East and Asia we are promoting job creation through investment on a local level. We are keen to increase our sales and turnover by working with export partners to improve performance and are optimistic that we will grow again this year. Dantec is delighted to have the support of the Mayor and we hope to build a strong working partnership moving forward.”

In a ceremony, Dantec presented the Mayor with a cheque for one of the Mayoral charities, the Wirral and North Cheshire Prostate Cancer Support Group.

The Mayor said that Dantec is a tremendous example of a dynamic Wirral business that is growing, exporting and investing locally.

“Dantec is a fantastic Wirral firm and the new production line will help drive growth and efficiency. Having met the management team I see a real drive and focus. They are preparing for growth in all the right ways. Firms like Dantec demonstrate that Wirral is a great place to do business. It has a strong manufacturing track record, a skilled labour force and is well located for transport and infrastructure systems.”
